Donald Trump Calls Elizabeth Warren ‘Pocahontas’ During NRA Convention Speech
By Erica Abbott
President Donald Trump once again referred to Senator Elizabeth Warren as “Pocahontas” during a speech he made at the National Rifle Association convention. This is far from the first time Trump has used the racist insult against Warren.
In his speech during the annual NRA meeting, Trump suggested that voters would be “swamped” with candidates in the 2020 presidential election, implying that Warren would be one of the candidates running against him. “You’ll have plenty of those Democrats coming over and you’re going to say, ‘No sir, no thank you;’ ‘no ma’am,’ perhaps ‘ma’am.’ It may be Pocahontas — remember that.” He added that Warren is “not big for the NRA” in front of a cheering crowd of NRA members.

Trump has called Warren “Pocahontas” over Twitter as well, especially throughout the 2016 presidential campaign. He tweeted the insult multiple times along with calling her a “total hypocrite,” “goofy” and “racist.” While Warren’s Native American ancestry remains unverified by formal documentation, according to Time, she has defended herself in interviews and on Twitter.
In a 2012 interview with NPR, Warren said, “I am very proud of my heritage. These are my family stories. This is what my brothers and I were told by my mom and my dad, my mamaw and my papaw. This is our lives. And I’m very proud of it.” There is no evidence to suggest that Warren used her alleged Native American heritage to benefit her professionally, which is something critics have touted for years.
Goofy Elizabeth Warren, sometimes referred to as Pocahontas, pretended to be a Native American in order to advance her career. Very racist!

Pocahontas is at it again! Goofy Elizabeth Warren, one of the least productive U.S. Senators, has a nasty mouth. Hope she is V.P. choice.

Elizabeth Warren, often referred to as Pocahontas, just misrepresented me and spoke glowingly about Crooked Hillary, who she always hated!

Trump is expected to mark his 100th day in office Saturday, April 29, with a rally in Pennsylvania.

The United States President referring to a sitting United States Senator as “Pocahontas” is something we should continue to be shocked by.
