Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye Joining Ant-Man And The Wasp At The Cost Of Mission: Impossible 6?
By Shawn Rice
Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye will be reportedly joining in the fun in the upcoming “Ant-Man and The Wasp.” Hawkeye has appeared in four Marvel films including both “Avengers,” “Thor” and “Captain America: Civil War.” Along with both the third and fourth “Avengers” films in the works, Renner is rumored to be reprising his role for “Ant-Man and The Wasp” according to Showbiz411.
The site reported that there is no word as to how large this role will be, but this news follows on from the reveal that the actor is skipping out on “Mission: Impossible 6” due to other commitments. This would make sense considering that Renner has commitments throughout much of 2016 with back-to-back “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers 4” filming.
The sharpshooter established a relationship with Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) in Civil War, and Barton was the one who traveled cross country to pick up Lang in the first place. Michael Douglas and Renner have previously teased they wanted to work together in a Marvel movie – it looks like they have the chance now.
Joining Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt in “Mission Impossible” are Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust, Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell, Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, Alec Baldwin as Alan Hunley and suprisingly Sean Harris returning as ‘Rogue Nation’ villain Solomon Lane who was last seen being taken into IMF custody. They are joined by new to the franchise cast members Henry Cavill, Sian Brooke and Vanessa Kirby. Shooting will take place in London, Paris, India and New Zealand.
Slated to begin production shortly, “Mission: Impossible 6” hits cinemas on July 27th 2018. “Ant-Man and the Wasp” is slated to begin production in July.
When Ant-Man and the Wasp hits theaters in 2018, it will be the first Marvel movie to feature a female character in a title role. That is a big honor for Peyton Reed and it sounds like he is more than ready to introduce audiences to the Wasp. The Wasp is one of the founding members of the Avengers in the comics, so her appearance in the movies is a long time coming. Evangeline Lily and Paul Rudd have great chemistry and it’s going to feel amazing to see the iconic duo together on the big screen. That is a pretty good trade to give away Giant Man for.
In the first film, forced out of his own company by former protégé Darren Cross, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) recruits the talents of Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), a master thief just released from prison. Lang becomes Ant-Man, trained by Pym and armed with a suit that allows him to shrink in size, possess superhuman strength and control an army of ants. The miniature hero must use his new skills to prevent Cross, also known as Yellowjacket, from perfecting the same technology and using it as a weapon for evil.
