#RockvilleRape Has Social Media Debating Donald Trump’s Illegal Immigration Stance

By Shawn Rice

Social media were quick to debate President Donald Trump’s immigration stance following the news about a pending case charging an illegal immigrant with assault. White House press secretary Sean Spicer said that the Maryland rape case, in which an 18-year-old with a pending immigration case is charged with assaulting a 14-year-old girl, is an example of why Trump is making illegal immigration a priority in his administration.

Henry E. Sanchez, 18, and Jose O. Montano, 17, are charged with raping the girl in a bathroom stall during school hours at Rockville High School in the D.C. suburbs Thursday, Montgomery County police said. Montano asked her for sex, and after she refused, he and Sanchez forced her into a boys’ bathroom, where they both raped her and sodomized her, police said.

The heated debate over this incident saw the hashtag #RockvilleRape trending. Much discussion was made about the need for stronger laws preventing illegal immigration. Some people also mentioned how more rapes are caused by white males than any other groups.

Here are some reactions on social media to the hashtag against Trump’s position.

When conservatives find out that majority of rapes are committed by white born and raised americans and it doesnt fit agenda #RockvilleRape pic.twitter.com/pkkvCVjBjA

Here are some reactions on social media in favor of Trump’s position.

To liberals, your children can be raped or murdered but that’s OK as long as they can import more potential voters. #RockvilleRape

80% of women and girls crossing the border are raped on their journey. Are we to believe the rapists aren’t crossing too? #RockvilleRape

If #RockvilleRape tragedy doesn’t make liberals realize the importance of a secure border & strict immigration laws, I don’t know what will.

Everyone involved with allowing the perpetrators of #RockvilleRape to remain in country need to be prosicuted. Aiding and abetting.
