The Toy Box: ParaShoot Moves to Round 2, But Falls to Chromo Tag

Toy: ParaShoot

Inventor: Jackson

ParaShoot is “a slingshot connected to a small parachute,” according to ABC.

The mentors like the name and think the toy is very cool. Jim Silver wonders what differentiates the product and agrees with Jackson that no other flying toys have parachutes. They see the potential, but worry about the price point of $15. Jen Tan thinks it could be improved but likes it overall. She passes it to the Toy Box, as does Dylan Lauren. Silver agrees.

In the Toy Box, the kid judges find it a bit confusing to play and, despite thinking it’s fun, Aalyrah Caldwell has safety concerns. Toby Grey likes the design, but Caldwell can’t get past the difficulty of shooting the toy. They all think it’s very fun though. Ultimately, they fail to make it to the finals, falling to Chromo Tag.

Hosted by “Modern Family” star Eric Stonestreet, “The Toy Box” helps inventors make their toy creation dreams become a reality. According to their website, the inventions are brought before mentors, including Dylan’s Candy Bar owner Dylan Lauren, toy guru Jim Silver and Pixar creative director of Consumer Products, Jen Tan. If they pass phase one, they then have the opportunity to face the ultimate toy-loving panel of judges: kids. The panel features Sophia Grace Brownlee, Aalyrah Caldwell, Toby Grey and Noah Ritter. The kids determine which toys make it to the finals and, ultimately, the one winning toy that will sold at Toys“R”Us.

A new episode airs each Friday at 8 p.m. on ABC.
