Your Guide to Amazon A+ Content (And How It Increases Sales)
By John Lincoln
How would you like to spice up your Amazon product listing with enhanced marketing? You can do that with A+ content.
In a nutshell, A+ content is an extended version of your product description. It includes additional images, ad copy, and maybe even a comparison chart.
According to Amazon, some brands see a lift in sales between 3 and 10% when they use A+ content.
If you haven’t yet tried to promote some of your ASINs with A+ content, now is the time to do so. Here’s what you need to know if you want to do that.
You Have to Sign up for It
Your product listings won’t include A+ content by default. You’ll have to sign up for the enhanced marketing if that’s what you want.
The good news is that it’s easy to sign up for A+ content. We’ll go over how to do just that a little later in this article.
It’s also important to note that there are a couple of different types of A+ content that you can select.
The first is called a self service module. As the name implies, that means you’ll be doing most of the creative work yourself.
Specifically, you’ll need to upload the images that you’d like to use in your A+ content. Also, you’ll need to provide the ad copy as well.
Keep in mind that with self-service modules, you might find yourself in a situation where you’re designing a lot more than you had realized. For example, you might need to design the Review and Checkout process.
If you think you’ve got what it takes to design your own product description, then by all means, opt for the self-service module. It will cost you as much as $400 per product.
On the other hand, if you don’t want to create the product detail page on your own, you can let Amazon build it for you. That will certainly make your life a little bit easier, but it will cost you. A+ content designed by Amazon can cost as much as three times what it costs to design the content yourself.
Even with the additional expense, there are some benefits to letting Amazon build the page for you. First, it keeps you free from specialized marketing tasks and gives you additional time to focus on the mission of your business. Second, it’s likely that Amazon knows exactly what kind of A+ content works best for your niche and will design the page accordingly.
